In On Postmodernism in International Relations (1): Poststructuralist Considerations on Theory, Language, and Discourse, Luiza-Maria Filimon was able to develop a painstaking analysis of the process of theory-making in International Relations, using the poststructuralist theory as the canvas on which to pursue this research endeavor. The theory acts, therefore, as both the backdrop and the centerpiece of a research framework that provides a mirror for the academic history of International Relations, assessing how the field evolved into an institutionalized science, and why the theoretical diversity associated with it, is a defining feature that differentiates it from other social sciences, reluctant to sidestep their orthodox conventions.
